From October 2025 to July 2026, we are working with our partners on the project History as a Weapon: Pro-Kremlin Revisionism and Disinformation in Central Europe.
The aim of the project is to examine how Russia uses historical revisionism in disinformation campaigns targeting Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The project will identify the main actors, techniques and channels used to spread manipulation, and will show how historical narratives influence the mutual image of the Visegrad Group countries.
The initiative is being implemented by a consortium comprising:
- Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) – a Czech think tank specialising in researching the impact of foreign disinformation campaigns,
- Adapt Institute – a Slovak organisation analysing the Kremlin’s information operations in Central and Eastern Europe,
- ETO – polską organizację pozarządową zajmującą się monitorowaniem wschodzących zagrożeń i technik dezinformacyjnych.
The project will bring a new quality to research on disinformation thanks to its transnational approach and analysis of direct sources of propaganda content. The results will be published in the form of reports, infographics and briefings, available to journalists, researchers and public institutions.
The project is being implemented thanks to the support of the International Visegrad Fund, which promotes cooperation between the Visegrad Group countries – Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary – in the areas of culture, education, innovation and civil society development.
